It's been a while since I lasted updated the site. So, what's new?

Historical

Games Workshop

10 July 2003

I've just returned from the Conflict 2003 tournament. I did better than expected, winning two games out of three!

Work and home commitments prevented me from completing my Daemonhunters army, so I took Necrons instead (led by a C'Tan). Do not fear, I will post more pictures of Daemonhunters, including my converted Inquisitor with Psycannon.

With so many Games Workshop galleries now, I've added a new Gallery Index page.

Last Saturday I attended Salute 2003!

I have just signed up for the 2003 Bristol region Conflict tournament. This is a Games Workshop Regional Tournament which I attended last year. I'm not a big competition player, but I enjoyed it last year and so I'm returning for more.

What's different this year is that I've decided to switch to my main love, which is Warhammer 40,000. In particular, I intend to take a Daemonhunters army.

I have now finished my Necron army and I'm looking forward to some games. See the Necron Gallery.

Currently on the painting table are Daemonhunters and Tomb Kings. The Tomb Kings forces are extensions to my existing Vampire Counts army, still on a fairly Gothic theme. Expect to see chariots pulled by Dire Wolves!

Lots of new photos! As well as Necrons, I have added the following: During the summer I played three Airsoft skirmishes. Follow the link from my Creative page.

There are various other changes throughout the site, and I have more changes planned.

Also of course coming soon is Salute 2003 in London. Be assured I'll be there, and this time I'll have plenty of batteries for my camera! My only planned purchase at the moment is the Shieldwall supplement for WAB. I'm actually not a great WAB fan, but the supplements are without equal and I've always had an interest in the British early medieval period (thanks to my history teacher).

Added no-frames support to web site!

Last week I attended an Open Day at Games Workshop HQ. See the Photos!.

My Necron army is very nearly complete. Hopefully I will get some photos of the army on the website soon, including my converted Immortals and converted Flayed Ones!

As usual, I have been busy!

I have immersed myself in the Vietnam War. Once again, like Stalingrad, shocking, mainly because of the atrocities which American servicemen confessed to in frank interviews. Not for me to judge, but a reminder of the horrors of real war. My new Vietnam rules are posted in the Downloads section.

W40K Tyranids vs. Imperial Guard battle! Read the Battle Report. See the Battle Photos.

Not miniatures wargaming, but definitely in context, I have recently played my first game of Airsoft outdoor skirmish. Follow the Airsoft link from my Creative page, which has been re-worked.

Just applied to the Wargamer's Ring web-ring!

Added more links to the Links page. Please, I am also looking for sites to link to me so the search engines will know I exist!.

Just back from BeachHead in Bournemouth. I played a game of Warhammer 40,000 with son Matthew, aged 8 (with a bit of help). A Blood Angels force led by an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos raced against a Genestealer Cult to obtain an ancient artifact of Necrontyr origin. This was a chance for the Imperial forces to both acquire knowledge of the Necrontyr and to strike a blow against the profane Cult. Read the Battle Report and see the Battle Photos.

Added more links to the Links page.

Back from Conflict, the Bristol regional Games Workshop tournament. How did I do with my Necrarch Vampire Warhammer army? Not bad. Considering I was a Warhammer novice, I was pleased to get three draw results in my three games.
The games were rushed because of time constraints, but otherwise I enjoyed myself. Most importantly, I am now looking forward to more games of Warhammer. Read the Battle Reports.

Great stuff on the Warhammer 40,000 front too. GW have released Codex Necrons and my Necron force is under construction...

A number of changes to the site, including new Battle Reports section; new photos of Necrons and Ancient Assyrians!

7 June 2002
I have now played my first Warhammer game! My Necrarch Vampire army was, predictably, trounced by an army of Beastmen. Read the Battle Report.

On an almost completely unrelated topic, I have finished reading Stalingrad by Antony Beevor. This is as miserable a story as you can imagine, and is the reason why I play fantasy more and more. Naturally, I have considered the impact on wargames. Read my thoughts about Wargaming Stalingrad.

I've just got back from Salute 2002. Excellent! Read my Salute 2002 Review. See some pictures in my new Historical Gallery.

Lots of activity at the moment:

New Samurai rules! Kensei first draft available to download.

Salute 2002 coming up soon. Salute is the premiere wargaming show in the South of England. Thoroughly recommended. See their site on my Links page.

I'm building and painting Undead models for the Warhammer tournament, but it's slow progress.

New Gallery added to the Games Workshop page. This includes scans of Space Hulk and some pictures of my Undead. The Undead pictures were taken with my wife's brand new digital camera, so expect more pictures to follow.

Web site published!

23 March 2002
I have just bought a ticket to Conflict in Bristol on June 22, which is a Games Workshop Regional Tournament. The crazy thing is, I put myself down for Warhammer and although I've been building up an army for several years I have yet to play my first game! Watch this space - I need to get some training in!

Started work on website.
